Tasks

 

As Industrial Relations Officer, you are expected to:

 

 

  • build up the Centers strategy for industrial relations in collaboration with the Center leadership team
  • develop and manage industrial contacts and contracts
  • manage the Open Science platform of the Center including the coordination of the quarterly Ideation meetings (together with the ED).
  • exploring new funding opportunities for the  Center including performing grant writing for recruiting additional funds.
  • responsible for the operations of Center-related activities at the AU Foulum campus.
 

 

Qualifications

 

You have a Master or a PhD in a relevant natural science or engineering field, and preferably prior experience at the university/industry interface. You have strong motivational and excellent interpersonal skills. You can communicate effectively with diverse stake holders and are a good listener. You can identify conflicts and provide a range of constructive solutions. You have strong analytical skills, strategic sense, and willingness to take initiative and follow through. You possess a high degree of independence, are solution-oriented, and have a sense of planning and prioritizing, as well as a sense of purpose. In addition, you are a strong and clear communicator in Danish as well as English in both writing and speaking and will easily fit into an international environment.


About us

 

The CO2 Research Center is a new, missionoriented Center based with its hub at Aarhus University and satellite institutions at the University of Copenhagen, Technical University of Denmark, Stanford University, Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO), University of Tromsø and Eberhard Karls University of Tuebingen.

The CO2 Research Centers purpose is to develop novel science for CO2 capture and CO2 conversions for storage or utilization to replace fossil carbon and fossil fuelintensive processes with sustainable, CO2based technologies. The ambition is to be recognized among the top three international science and technology centers for mitigating CO2based climate change. In steady state, the Center is expected to collectively include more than 20 research groups with 150 researchers (PhD students, postdocs, and staff).

The Center will pursue distinctively collaborative approaches between the chemical and life sciences. The Center will connect universitybased research with openscience platforms for innovation with industry partners. The activities will focus on the full value chain and bringing together worldleading research in capture technologies, chemical CO2 conversion, and life sciences CO2 conversion. Thereby, the Center will strengthen Danish industry competitiveness and enhance the impact of the science developed. The Center will have a comprehensive and inclusive outreach and education program targeting academia, industry, policy makers, journalists, and the public.

The Technology and Industrial Relations Officer will report to the Head of Operations as personnel manager, and is a key member of the Center leadership team jointly with the Head of Operations Officer, the Communications Officer, the Outreach Officer, and the Education Officer. The management team will be supported by three scientific advisors as well as an Administrative Assistant.

The recruitment process is in collaboration with Hartmanns, who will hold preliminary interviews.

Interviews at Aarhus University are planned for week 3, 2022 (1st interview) and for week 4, 2022 (2nd interview). Applicants invited for a second interview will be expected to participate in a personality profile test in week 3, 2022.

Expected start in the position is February 1st 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter.
 

Formalities and salary range

 

Salary and terms as agreed between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Confederation of Professional Unions.
